“Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day...” Deuteronomy 8: 11

It was in these words that a newspaper summed up years of ministry by a brilliant young preacher, a renowned tele-evangelist whose sermons returned to several television and radio stations around the world. However, this success will take a hit. He was found in a hotel room with a prostitute and the news was on the front page of several newspapers and broadcast on several radio and television stations.

How could such a thing happen to an anointed one of God? It is the same question that one addresses by reading the story of the young shepherd of Israel, anointed of God, adorer without peer, certified "man according to my heart", David. He himself would never have imagined having a secret affair with his servant's wife and having to have him killed to hide his sin. However, one evening, at the top of the roof of his royal palace, a carnal desire triggered everything!

In seeking to understand how such things can happen to God's anointed ones, I realized, in Deuteronomy 8: 7-20, how much success or prosperity exposes man to sin more and there is no better moment for us to be more vigilant than when our name beings to be associated with success, prosperity. In these verses God made it a point to warn his people against sin in prelude to their future prosperity. “When you have eaten and are satisfied... when you build fine houses and settle down and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied ... ","Beware of forgetting the Lord your God ..."; Take care that ...; Remember the Lord ...

God will add what happened if these recommendations are not observed: "you will perish"

How many men on the rise, talents promoted to a certain success have not seen their star darken or dream broken for not having taken care of the flesh and its lusts.
